Fold is a chair designed for batch production. I designed the chair to be structured from a single stainless steel sheet. I folded shape after shape and model after model to find a stable structure that is as interesting as it is stable. I decided to start from a pyramid and manipulate and create focal points in the design. I examined the idea of manipulating paper to create the models and implemented the same process on a metal sheet. I created a 2D line drawing on the computer to print in paper and figure out the structure and used the same lids drawing to use a plasma cutter on a metal sheet.”
